Articles are aggregated from GDELT (Global Database of Events), RSS feeds (Al Jazeera, BBC, France 24, DW News, Times of Israel), and Reddit (r/worldnews, r/geopolitics). Sentiment analysis uses keyword matching — not AI — so accuracy is approximate. Event classification (attack/defense/protest) is based on headline keywords. Geographic coordinates come from GDELT GeoJSON or are inferred from city names mentioned in headlines. Data refreshes every 30 seconds on the client, every 5 minutes on the server.
